Washcloth of the Month: January
Clean Slate

The first in a monthly series of dishcloth patterns to be released, Clean Slate. The name comes from the feeling you get when the calendar switches over to a new year. Like the fresh new planner waiting for all the fun and exciting things you have to look forward to in the new year, we all have a clean slate to start fresh. Even if you don't believe in resolutions, you have to admit there is something refreshing to the beginning of a new year. A feeling of opportunity to start that "thing" you have been wanting to accomplish. The Clean Slate pattern represents all of those feelings.
I chose neutral colors & an easy straightforward pattern with clean lines for this month's project.

Speaking of New Year's resolutions, I love to set them & always have lots of grand plans, but more likely than not they will not always go as planned! I will lose interest or get so far behind that I give up. Sound familiar? So, this year I decided to do something on a much smaller scale & that would be relatively easy to accomplish. Thus, the monthly washcloth was born! Using 100% cotton worsted weight yarn & a quick knit that can be completed in an afternoon. There will be no excuse to check this off your list each month.

This project checks so many boxes:
Small & portable
Super interesting! The pattern & colors will change each month
Easy way to learn or improve a skill on a small scale like lace or cables
Great palette cleanser between larger more complicated patterns or projects
Practical & versatile; at the end of the year you will have 12 or more washcloths that can be used from the bathroom to the kitchen and everywhere in between.
They make great gifts!
