Ives Cowl

A simple to knit lacy ribbed pattern combined with a beautiful yarn produces a stunning cowl!

The Ives Cowl is the perfect on the go project, with an easy to memorize 4 row repeats, you can easily pick up where you left off. This is one of my favorite kind of stitch patterns. It looks complicated, but its reality its very simple to knit. Make one for that special friend (and one for yourself of course!) & They will be super impressed!

In this pattern you will be using the following techniques all of which are easy to master for anyone trying them for the first time.

  • Knitting in the round

  • K2TOG (Knit 2 stitches together)

Where does the name Ives come from?

Last year when I started to work on this cowl, I was watching the show Penny Dreadful. It was only on for 3 seasons from 2014-2016 & it intertwines all the classic tales of Frankenstein, Dorian Grey, Dracula & the Wolfman in a clever and unique way. I love all these stories & found it entertaining to see them portrayed in such an interesting way. One of the main character's is Vanessa Ives played by Eva Green, and that is where the name Ives comes from!

The Ives Cowl can be found here on in my site shop, as well as on Ravelry & Etsy.

Happy Knitting!!
